Refurbished in 2006 without losing its essential character, Dorset House is a boutique backpackers hostel in a historic 1871 character building. With a Qualmark rating of 4-Star (excellent), it is a unique and relaxing environment from which to enjoy all that Christchurch has to offer. Our 17 guest rooms offer delightful budget accommodation, with a wide range of guest facilities and tourist services available within the hostel. There are no bunk beds here and all beds are fully made with fresh linen. Dorset House is located in Dorset St, next to Hagley Park in central Christchurch.

Free WiFi access available in the public areas of the hostel (kitchen and lounge).

Also available - one and two bedroom self-contained apartments at Dorset Apartments, our separate apartment building in the heart of the city on Peterborough St. The apartment building is 5 minutes walk from Cathedral Square, a lovely character house. All apartments are fully furnished with carparking and wifi access available.
